Apple Device Updates and New Features
How do you know your Apple device offers new or updated features?
You can see available iOS device updates – and notifications – in Settings → General → Updates. Devices include smartphone and tablet, Apple or Android.
Be the First to See New Apple Features and Updates
One of my all-time favorite sites for keeping up with Apple updates and new features is CNET. Below, a current CNET article about iOS 13 Updates.

iPhone Control Center Has Been Updated
Over the course of several recent iOS (Apple Operating System) updates, the iPhone Control Center has been updated and can now be easily customized.
The most popular tool, of course, is the Flashlight.
NEW Features: Lower Power and Dark Mode
These new features have been added to useful tools features already on iPhone. Existing features include Apple Wallet, Voice Memos, Magnifier, Notes and more.
How to Customize the Control Center
To Customize the Control Center, tap to open Settings. Navigate to the Control Center; and tap to open Customize Control Center.
Select with a single tap those features you would like to make available in the Control Center.
The result will be a quick access to the Control Center and your desired feature.
Reminder, when accessing the Control Center from a pre-iPhone X, swipe up from the top of the Home Button to arrive at the Control Center.
Customizing iPhone X and Later Models
If you are customizing an iPhone X and later models, swipe downward and to the left from the upper-right-corner of your iPhone…accessing the Control Center.
Access to your favorite Apple iOS tools/features like the Magnifier will be quick and efficient when you pin it to the Control Center
Another Favorite Apple Device Update: Dark Mode
Another favorite iOS update is Dark Mode which changes the display, which helps when in low-light surroundings.
Dark Mode is available on devices after the iPhone 8 model.
Enable and customize Dark Mode in Settings → Display and Brightness → Dark Mode.
While principally a user interface feature (and to some degree, a battery-saving feature) – Dark Mode may be a personal preference more than anything.
Try it in several iPhone features – such as email, messages, and especially photos. If you see yourself using Dark Mode frequently, add it as an option to the Control Center, making it easy to engage and disengage.
